The Harvey Monologues
A collection of ten Satirical Monologues
The Harvey Monologues feature the fictitious character Harvey, a seventy year old gay man of colour. He is a second generation descendant of the 1950's Windrush Pioneers. Harvey cut his back teeth in 1970's London, against a backdrop of homophobia and racism from a white and black community. As a teenager, he also received an unexpected frosty welcome from an established gay scene. Having had a full and colourful, but closeted existence, he now lives a diminished social life with limited human interaction and connection. He spends most days by his living room window, looking out into a changing world.
The Monologues, written by Richard Mark Thompson, are a collection of Harvey's reminiscent reflections of a life well lived.
